Tariq Snare

Tariq Snare is a Brooklyn-born percussionist. He has served as a cultural ambassador for the United States, traveling across the world while sharing and spreading hip hop culture. He began his musical career at Laguardia Music and Art High school in Harlem and followed that with a concentration in Classical and Jazz at Long Island University. Tariq has a distinct style of drumming, which can be best described as an eclectic genre-bending fusion. This inclusive style of drumming directly correlates with his multitude of experiences throughout a lengthy career. He currently works as the drummer for Native Deen, a Muslim hip hop group based out of Washington, D.C. and is also the drummer and musical director of Morrisania Band Project — a musical collective and incubator based out of Morrisania in the South Bronx. Tariq’s life journey has created what has become a deep respect and admiration for music. He now dedicates his life to teaching techniques of rhythm across the world and sharing what he considers to be the world's language: music.
